Caption Description
The Economic and Social Council opened its forty-sixth session at United Nations Headquarters today. It elected officers for 1969, adopted its agenda and approved a work programme for the session. Raymond Scheyven (Belgium) was elected President by acclamation. Maximilliano Kestler (Guatemala), Fakhreddine Mohamed (Sudan) and J.B.P. Maramis (Indonesia) were unanimously elected Vice-Presidents.
