Strengthening Secondary Education in Colombia
Caption Description
The Colombia Government is restructuring secondary-level education in order to meet a growing economy’s need for trained middle-level manpower. As part of its plans for educational reform, 28 comprehensive secondary schools are being established which integrate academic studies and practical courses, thereby preparing students both for the labor market and for further studies, and accelerating the shift in enrolment from academic to industrial and agricultural $38.5 million loan from the World Bank (IBRD).
Students put on a puppet show about health care at school in Barranquilla.
