Headline Pupils of the Japanese Educator and Violin Teacher Professor Shin-ichi Suzuki Perform at UN Headquarters
Caption Description A demonstration concert was given by the well-known Japanese educator and violin teacher, Professor Shin-ichi Suzuki, and his pupils today in the Dag Hammarskjöld Library Auditorium at United Nations Headquarters. The professor, whose method of teaching very young children to play the violin by rote has attracted worldwide attention, is currently in the United States with his pupils (ages five to ten) to attend the National Convention of the Association of American String Teachers in Philadelphia.

Mr. Ralph J. Bunche, UN Under-Secretary-General for Special Political Affairs, is seen greeting one of the young violinists.
